Botany Houseplant Shop represents the convergence of my two professional career paths- retail and gardening, along with my desire to create a space for personal connection. I'm passionate about the interior design and customer service aspects of retail and the calming fulfillment and intrigue with nature that I experience when working with plants. Along with providing beautiful things to enhance your indoor spaces, we believe in empowering people with the knowledge and understanding of how to care for and nurture their plants. We look forward to meeting with you!
My intrigue with the natural world began in the fall of 2002 when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. Due to the abundance of rainfall- 9 months out of the year- the lush, green environment captivated me and I became entranced by the idea of working outdoors with plants. A multi-tasker by nature (for better or worse), I kept one foot in the creative world of clothing and retail merchandising where I began working in at age 15, while beginning to explore the world of gardening as a profession. By 2008 I had shifted entirely to working with plants~ installing garden designs for a boutique nursery, personal gardening for clients, assistant managing a mom and pop garden center, all the while spending my free time tending to my own garden. The winter of 2017 my partner & I moved to Colorado with our dog and 2 cats and settled in the Roaring Fork Valley. The next few years we entertained ourselves with in-depth conversations of opening a store like Botany- a boutique houseplant shop that specializes in not only the plants & products we sell, but also the customer experience. Botany Houseplant Shop was therefore born in the summer of 2022. My hope is to share with others the satisfaction, fulfillment of senses and beautiful simplicity that houseplants have brought to my life.
